He worked with us, with patience and a shared passion and ended up delivering, not a house, but a home. Joe and Janel, thank you both — genuinely — for being our first custom home clients. We’d already built and sold three spec homes by the time we met you — it was the third one that first put our work in front of you, and that’s how this relationship began. But building something that started as nothing more than your own idea — no drawings, no pictures, just a feeling for what you wanted — was a different kind of trust altogether, and we didn’t take it lightly then and we don’t now.

Your patience while we worked through that process together taught us a lot about what it takes to translate a concept into a home someone actually wants to live in — and that experience shaped how we’ve approached every custom home since. We broke ground in February 2004 and handed you the keys that December, and we’re proud of what we built together in those ten months. Even prouder that, all these years later, it’s still the home you wanted.

As for never building you another house — we understood exactly what you meant, and we’ll take it as the compliment it was intended to be. Thank you for taking that first chance on us.
